rgm-o-79d cold districts prototype custom

I made this using the body of the o gundam and the head as well as the shield from the cold districts type gm.
I haven't painted or panel lined this kit because I'm too lazy to do it.
I call it a prototype because I see this as being something that could be mass produced, I think the parts look really good together and to make it was rather easy, as well the colors seem to match for the head and body (if you didn't know it was a custom, you'd probably think it was made that way).
all in all, I really like how it looks and I'm happy with it.

project idea

I haven't really done much this month, I've not been feeling the best as well as having things to do, I have had a cool project idea though, I was thinking of buying another phantasy star model kit and modding some gundam parts onto it to make a mecha musume custom, but the price of the phantasy star kits at the store where I purchased my previous kits has raised their price on the kits and I really don't want to spend too much so I guess my idea will have to wait.

08th ms team sd gundam gashapon

I ordered two sets of sd gundam gashapon online and these four were in the sets so I put them together as a separate set, I almost have all of the 08th ms team just need an rx-79 with a gm head and a hover truck (although I'm pretty sure there isn't a hover truck in this scale (sd))

Phantasy Star Blue Burst RAcaseal: redria ver. APSY

I recently bought two Phantasy Star Blue Burst RAcaseal: redria ver. APSY model kits, this kit has the option of allowing the builder to build a shorter version of the character if they so desire.

as you can see in the picture above I built both heights, the difference in assembling the different heights wasn't very difficult.

a friend of mine asked me if these model kits were around the same height as a busou shinki figure so I took this picture as a comparison picture.

the Phantasy Star Blue Burst RAcaseal: redria ver. APSY model kit is almost identical to the Phantasy Star Blue Burst RAcaseal: yellowboze ver. APSY model kit, the main difference is the color but redria also comes with more weapons and has the height option, but aside from that they are basically the same kit, so if you want a yellowboze kit but can't find one you can simply repaint a redria kit and vice versa (in my opinion: the only difficult part would be the eyes as they are different colors, but you could always due a "blank eyes" version).

all in all I am very happy with these models and I would definitely purchase this kit again.

mysterious figurine

I bought a hasegawa 1/12 scale capsule machine and a random figurine (apparently it's from an old video game), I had bought the capsule machine for the purpose of taking photos of my figures buying a toy but when I realized the figurine was meant to sit on something I got the idea to have her sit on top of the machine and I think they look really good together.

apparently the figurine is from a dating game, I've tried to find the name of the game and had gotten a few different results which are: grafitty angels, angel grafitti s, grafitti angels. apparently the game was a dating game for the sega saturn, and the figure was supposedly made in 1998, that is pretty much all that I know about the figurine (I don't even know the characters name) but perhaps in the future I'll find out more about it.

this photo has been edited, it is the two above photos that have been cropped then put side by side, if you look closely you can see the line that separates the two photos.

new project follow up: the gm-o-d gundam

 (this is the unpainted version)

I call this mobile suit the gm-o-d gundam, gm-o-d stands for the three suits I used to make it: the rgm-79d gm cold districts type, the gn-000 o gundam, and the xxxg-01d2 gundam deathscythe hell.

(this image does not belong to me)

I got the idea for this from playing the ps2 game ms saga: a new dawn in which there is a house in the game (marie's place) where there is a gm command head with a gundam v-fin (I think it's off of the mk2 gundam) attached to it in the background, I wasn't able to get a gm command so I used a gm cold districts type instead and I used the v-fin from the o gundam as well as the shield, the legs are from a spare deathscythe hell kit that I had, once I finished modding it I decided to paint it and panel line it as well, the paint job could have been better but my paintbrush that I was using is kind of worn out and isn't the greatest but from a distance the paint looks well done so it's ok I guess, also in the pictures it has a different gun in the before shots, I didn't like the way it looked so I switched it out for a machine gun I had from a rx-79 model kit and painted and panel lined it, the pictures aren't that great because they hide some of the details (the panel and thrusters on the back unit are painted but it doesn't show up in the pictures).

(this is the finished version (painted and panel lined))

I had thought about calling this suit the gm-o-d-79 because that would count all the kits I used to make it (because the gun is from an rx-79 model kit) but I decided to leave it as gm-o-d because it can be read as g mod which would stand for gundam mod which I believe fits perfectly because I modded a gm into a gundam.

(a side by side comparison of the unfinished version and the finished version (the left side is the unfinished ver. and the right side is the finished ver.))

it could have turned out a bit better but all in all I'm happy with it.

new project

recently I started thinking about a mobile suit head which I saw while playing MS Saga: A New Dawn and  I started to wonder what suit it goes to or if it was just something that was put in the game as background art:

(I did not take this picture/screen shot)
(I cropped the picture above to show the head a little better)

as shown in the pictures it seems to be (in my opinion) a gm command with a gundam v-fin, I've tried researching the head and I've only found one mobile suit but I'm not sure if it has anything to do with this head.

(this is not my picture)

in this picture it shows a gundam whose name is apparently gm command hammerhead gundam (it might be gm command hammer head gundam, but I don't think splitting hammerhead into hammer head makes any sense), I'm not sure if this is a real gundam or a fan made one or if it is suppose to be the finished product from that head and I doubt that it is.

(this is not my picture, this picture is of box art for a 1/144 scale model kit)

so with the head on my mind I decided to make a 1/144 scale model with the head, I purchased a gm cold districts type model kit so I could build it, as of right now I've only just started building the kit and it will probably not get finished for quite some time, but if I am able to find a gm command model kit for a decent price I will use it instead, or I might just make a different version of it.

custom painted rx-79

I recently bought a rx-79 ground war set and wasn't actually planing on building it, I had bought the kit so that I could get the hover truck and gm head for my older rx-79 kit so I could have the entire 08th ms team (the ez8, rx-79, rx-79 gm head repair, and hover truck).

I was helping a friend clean out his basement and found a couple bottles of nail polish and I got the idea to paint this kit using nail polish, so I saved the bottles I had found and I used them to paint the kit. I painted the blue parts purple, the red parts were painted a darker red, and I used actual paint to paint the yellow parts metal. I don't think I will ever paint another model kit with nail polish ever again, it is very hard to work with and takes a very long time to fully dry.

this kit has not yet been panel lined due to the fact that I can't find my gundam marker so I am currently unable to panel line it.
all in all, I like how it turned out, it's not perfect but it has character and I like the color so I'm happy with it.

Phantasy Star Blue Burst RAcaseal: yellowboze ver. APSY

I recently bought a PHANTASY STAR ONLINE Blue Burst – RAcaseal: Yellowboze Ver.APSY 1/12 plastic model kit by Kotobukiya, I'm not really a fan of phantasy star but I really liked the look of the kit and decided to buy it, it took about two days to assemble (I started late at night so I only got the arms done then I went to sleep, when I woke up I built the rest of it). it is unpainted (I don't plan on painting it), the skirt piece that comes pre-painted in this kit was not very well prepared before it was painted as you can see where it was clipped out from the plastic tree so having it already painted is pointless because you would have to sand it down and repaint it if you wanted it to be perfect, but it comes with some extra parts that aren't used (a chest, torso, toes, knee joints, shoulder armor, skirt armor, and eye plate (I think that was everything, I may have forgotten something)) so you can change the color of a few parts and build a perfect skirt armor, she also comes with a variety of hands (some are already done and ready to use (I think they are actually made of pvc) and there are some that are in a plastic tree and need to be assembled).

the articulation of the model is really nice and it is very poseable the only trouble is keeping her from falling over as she does not come with a stand (apparently this kit is compatible with a stand that kotobukiya makes, not sure what one though). the weapon and back unit pieces in the pictures shown are from 1/144 scale gundam kits (gun: rx-79 ground gundam, back units: amx-107 bawoo), the kit does come with its own weapons but I thought she'd look better with some gundam parts.

this kit also has four different hair/head pieces to choose from so you can pick the one you like best, but sadly she only comes with one face plate so you can only have one full head (unless you buy four kits).

(these head shots are not my pictures)

all in all, I am very happy I bought this model kit.

my bikes

my two miniature motorbikes, on the left is a suzuki dirtbike (not sure what model) and on the right is a kawasaki ninja.
the stand on the suzuki somehow got broken before it was even opened, but luckily it can still stand on its own.
as for the kawasaki, the mirrors kept falling off so I decided rather than gluing them on that I would just leave them off, I actually really like the way it looks without the mirrors so it doesn't really bother me.

gundam converge: zaku 2s

over the past year or so I started collecting gundam converge figures, converge figures are sd style and are in the same design as in the playstation 2 game ms saga: a new dawn, so far I've only collected the zaku figures from this line of toys, I had originally planned on collecting the actual gundams and some of my favorite mobile suits but for whatever reason I've only purchased the zakus.

so far I have four zaku 2 figures and one zaku 1 (not shown), from left to right front to back: garma zabi custom zaku 2, zaku 2, j. ridden custom zaku 2, and char aznable custom zaku 2.
the zaku 1 that I have is apparently known as the zaku 1 black tri-star version (not shown in this post)

kamen rider

I think it's time for something other than busou shinki, so here's a few pics of my kamen rider toy that I've had for years.

here is the view from the front showing him with and without the extra helmet piece. back when I got this toy I knew the character as masked rider, I learned many years later that the name was originally kamen rider, personally I like the sound of masked rider better but that's just my opinion.

again the pictures show the toy with and without the extra helmet but this time the view is from the side.
I'm not sure if the figure actually goes with the bike or not (I seem to remember getting the figure before I got the bike but I don't know, maybe I'm not remembering it right) but the figure is to scale and it fits on the bike very nicely, I think there might be a wind up base or pull cord that's suppose to go with it because there seems to be a gear on the inside next to the wheel, but I'm not sure.
