second hand gunpla

about a year ago I stumbled upon a gaming/toy store that sells new and used things, in their display cabinet there were a couple 1/144 ng (no grade) gunpla, I purchased them both for $5 a kit.

the two kits I got were the duel gundam (the one on the left) and the strike dagger (the one on the right), both kits are missing parts but at $5 a kit I don't really mind that much, when I bought the kits they had been assembled very poorly and I had to take them apart and fix them then put them back together (basically I had to rebuild them), I had originally planned on using them for parts and custom projects but I never got around to it, so for now they are just space fillers on my shelf.

my knife collection

I had wanted to take photos of something else but at the moment I don't have a good photo taking area set up.

my collection might be a little small but these are what I own right now (I think I might have one or two more but I don't know where they are right now).

from left to right: a small folding knife, a multitool knife, a folding exacto knife with compartment for spare blades (I keep it empty), a folding knife with a wooden inlay in the handle, a folding knife with a motorcycle theme (part of the handle is shaped like a motorcycle engine and it has an inlay with a picture of a motorcycle), a folding knife with a cheap plastic handle and a keyring added to the blade for easier opening (I only use this for opening letters and packages), and finally a fishing knife (I think it's meant to be a tanto style knife).

buyers remorse

buyers remorse, we've all had to deal with it at some point in time, be it a food item that tasted bad or buying a piece of tech just to have the latest version come out a week later.
so continuing on about buyers remorse, one of my friends is a bit of a collector but it seems he wants to sell off some of his figures, I've known that there were a couple he had that he wasn't happy with (paint was messed up, didn't want the figure as much as he thought he did, etc.) but I didn't know there were so many he wanted to get rid of.
he wants my help to sell them, although he has offered them to me first for purchase (there are a few I'd really like to have) but I fear I might get buyers remorse myself if I spend too much for them, there are a number of things I want to buy but I don't think I could pass up such an opportunity to attain certain figures, on a side note I don't know where I would even put them as I have run out of shelf space (and space in general) but I don't know, I guess I'll wait and see how much he wants and then make a decision.

persistent cold

almost all this month I've not been feeling the greatest, I've had a persistent cold, headaches, and so on, I've also been busy trying to organize my living space which has resulted in the loss of my photography area (where I take all my pictures), so for now I don't have anything to post but hopefully next month I will be feeling better and have the time and space to work on something that I can share.

RGM-79 GM girl nagato

my most recent mobile suit girl, made using a hg 1/144 rgm-79 gm, figma yuki nagato, and figma homura akemi school uniform ver.

the build wasn't super hard to do and only required some light modding work, I wasn't originally going to use nagato's head but I really didn't feel like using the one I had originally chosen (figma madoka kaname school uniform ver. which came as a package deal with figma homura akemi school uniform ver.) so I bought a used figma yuki nagato to use, I had also originally wanted to use the gm's shoulder armor but I couldn't get it to work so I decided to leave it off (I might try to figure out a way to attach it again in the future, but for now it's alright).

to build it I pegged the arms and legs in using leftover pieces cut from the model kits runner, the back unit was also attached using a runner peg (what I call them) but had to be sanded down a little to fit in the hole on the back unit, the neck piece was basically just put over the neck, the head piece and side skirts had their connection pegs trimmed down/removed and were then glued on, the chest vents were the hardest part as they were trimmed down to be a little smaller and then glued on.

all in all I'm very happy with how this figure turned out.

a new project currently underway

although I don't have any pictures to share at the moment I do have a new project I'm working on, I'm making what's known as a mobile suit girl (MS girl for short), to build it I'm using high grade 1/144 gunpla (which one I'm using is a secret for right now) and a figma. I'm not sure who the figma is of as I'm not familiar with the series it's from, I bought two together on ebay for a low price specifically for this project so which character it was didn't really matter.

hopefully I will have it finished soon and have pictures of it.
