busou shinki benio and grapprap

recently I acquired a second busou shinki prototype partio so I decided to use it to give grapprap a new body and to restore benio.

even though I'm not much of a fan of benio I do like her armor but on the other hand I hate it because it is really hard to pose her while she is in full armor, but it might just be the combination of armor, benio comes with enough armor that if you had a blank body you could basically have two benio figures, her none armored face/head in my opinion is kind of ugly so I prefer her armored face/head (she comes with two heads total), because of the posability issues I ended up giving her a somewhat weird pose.

now that grapprap has a new body I think she looks much better, personally I think she looks really good with the yellow, if I was able to get a better picture the color of her armor would be more yellow but in the photo it looks more like it's orange instead of yellow (at least to me it does) but oh well I guess, all in all I'm very happy with how she looks now.

I decided that it would make sense to take a picture of them together seeing as they used to be sharing the same body, I think they look really good together.

busou shinki prototype partio

recently I acquired 3 new busou shinki one of which I've wanted for a very long time, they are: tsugaru, strarf, and partio.

today I will be showing partio, there are two different patio figures that can be purchased the first is a prototype version which comes with no armor and is basically a blank body that comes with a detailed face/head rather than a blank face/head, the second version comes with some light armor (hand and feet armor but no actual body armor), it seems that both versions are really basic and mainly only exist for the purpose of having another character to collect.

the version I have is the prototype version and as I said above this shinki doesn't come with any armor, the armor in the picture is from busou shinki maochao.
also the stand that is holding her up is not a busou shinki stand it is a gundam stand, it fits almost perfectly but is a little loose but this can probably be fixed by wrapping the connecting piece of the stand with a small piece of tape.

custom busou shinki

one more shinki to my collection, this time I bought a blank body (strarf mk.2 swimwear version) which I had planned to use to give grapprap a new body and to restore benio but it turned out that the body was an upgraded version (konami changed some of the things on the body, there are 3 different versions) so some of the parts didn't fit, so after wasting some time I got an idea to use a figma head so I grabbed my spare kuroneko figma (I have 3 in total) and after some light modding and messing with it was finished, so here is the finished product, busou shinki kuroneko:

for armor/weapons I basically just grabbed whatever spare armor/weapons that would fit, the armor/weapon parts are:
grapprap: upper leg armor
benio: shoulder armor, sword
waffebunny: hand gun
maochao: wrist spacers

I'm still trying to think of what armor/weapons might look better so I'm still messing with it, but now that this has been made I have restored my other kuroneko figma back to normal (she no longer has gundam parts), for right now I'm happy with it.

another busou shinki

after I purchased my original busou shinki (I purchased 3 full shinki and 1 armor set) I came across another full shinki and another armor set for a decent price so I decided to buy them, I had originally planned on just using the body of the full shinki to build the armor set but when I finished assembling it I thought that it was lacking so I took the armor for the full shinki and mixed it with the armor set and this is what I got.
the shinki that I used are called benio (the full body) and grapprap (the armor set)

busou shinki howling and maochao

I mentioned in my last post that I had purchased three busou shinki and a armor set and only showed the one figure (the one that the armor set makes), so I thought that I would show the other two figures, first up is howling:
this is what howling looks like with her armor on, the armor is a pain in the butt to put on so for right now I don't plan on taking it off of her.
second up is maochao:
in this picture the only armor maochao has on is her helmet/headpiece, after the struggle I had putting on howlings armor I decided to not put maochaos armor on her (except for her helmet thingy), so I just gave her a spare gundam gun from one of my gundam model kits.

busou shinki

so recently I've gotten into mecha musume type stuff and through this I discovered busou shinki (I believe they are made by konami), they are kind of like figma but they are geared towards people who like to make customs. they sell what I call armor sets which are basically all the parts you need to make a certain character, all the parts except for a body but if you already have a figure all the parts are able to be swapped out but if you don't want to do that they also sell blank bodies for this. I personally bought 3 full figures and a armor set, I had originally gotten the armor set thinking that it was just an extension pack for a certain character but as I found out it was for making a whole nother character altogether so I took the double I had bought and used it to make my third character, the "custom" character as I call it is named waffebunny the body is from a character called mao chao (might also be spelled like this: MaoChao), I have yet to open the other two I got (another mao chao and a character named howling)

as you can see in the picture the color of the body doesn't really match the armor but I used what I had, anyways the left side has no camera flash and the right side has camera flash (left: no flash, right: yes flash)

all in all, I'm happy with it.

new figures

recently I bought a few new figures, one of which was a revoltech haruhi bunnysuit ver.
personally I'm not very fond of revoltech figures but once in a while I see one that I want, the figure is pretty nice but I still like figma figures better but I suppose that there are some others that are just as good but for revoltech I'd have to say that they just aren't as high quality as figma but they still make fairly nice figures, but that aside they need to work on their stands because they suck I ended up using a spare figma stand to hold up this figure (the cool part of that is that the clip thingy from the revoltech stand plugs onto the figma stand perfectly).
all in all I still like the figure and I'll probably end up getting more revoltech figures.

mecha musume kuroneko version 2

after I finished the first version of my mecha musume kuroneko I wanted to make it better and add a backunit.

the mech parts are from gundam nataku and mobile suit bawoo, also it is unpainted and isn't 100% perfect/finished yet but for now I will leave it as is.

the parts on her arms are suppose to be blades but they double as flight mode parts allowing for increased maneuvering and when not in use they are spun upwards and out of the way.

mecha musume kuroneko

I recently became interested in mecha musume and custom figures, so I ended up buying two figmas of kuroneko from ore no imouto ga konna ni kawaii wake ga nai and I turned one of them into a mech girl (although it didn't turn out as I had planned, it did turn out pretty close to it) using some spare 1:144 scale gundam model kit parts.

pictures:

for the arms I used the arms from gundam deathscyth hell, as for the legs I used the legs from gundam nataku, and for her sword I used a cocktail skewer/sword.
Photobucket
I had originally planned on only using half the arm and having the other half be the arm of the figma but the joints were too tight and I didn't want to risk breaking them so I decided on a full arm swap (the only thing I don't like about the arms is that the shoulder parts had to come off because her hair got in the way).
Photobucket
as for the legs I had originally planned on using the legs from gundam altron but I ended up using gundam natakus legs instead.

All in all I like the way she looks so far but she's still somewhat a work in progress, but for now I think I'll just leave her as is.

I totally forgot

I had wanted to put more posts up and actually contribute to this blog but I totally forgot about it, but I will try to actually do something with this blog even if it is only one post a month I'll do something.
